1. Scope and service providers
This policy covers the Satogate website and widget, including the widget embedded in another application. Satogate handles information for its website, buying interface, integrations and support. The application hosting an embedded widget also handles information under its own privacy notice.
Fiat-to-USDT buying is offered in partnership with Legend Trading. Purchase, payment and verification providers process information for the services they supply and for their legal obligations. Read the provider notices presented in the buying flow, including the relevant Legend Trading privacy notice. The provider and its responsibilities can depend on your location and transaction.
Legend Trading privacy policy ↗2. Information used in the service
Website and support information can include your IP address, browser and device information, request and security logs, contact details, messages and the service you ask about. Buying-profile information can include your email address, verification status and a partner user identifier associated with your session.
Purchase information can include your order reference, fiat and crypto amounts, selected payment method, payment-provider reference, receiving wallet address, network, transaction hash and order status. Verification can require identity, address or business documents and information about source of funds. Where a verification provider requests a selfie or biometric check, its notice explains that processing. Submit sensitive documents only through the designated process.
3. Why information is processed
Information is used to operate and secure the website and widget, associate you with a buying profile, present purchase options, facilitate verification and orders, show progress, reconcile transactions and respond to support requests. Applicable verification records can also help reduce repeated onboarding steps.
Information is also processed to prevent fraud and misuse, screen transactions where required, meet anti-money laundering and sanctions obligations, keep required records and resolve disputes. Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing relies on providing a requested service or taking steps toward a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in security and service operation, or consent where required.
4. Identity and returning visits
Email verification or a trusted partner session helps identify your buying profile inside the widget. For an embedded experience, the integrating application may supply an agreed user identifier or session information to connect its authenticated user with that profile.
An applicable KYC record may be used to reduce repeated verification, subject to the permissions, provider requirements and legal rules that apply. This does not make every record reusable with every provider. Additional checks or updated documents may still be necessary, and an earlier verification does not guarantee another transaction will be approved.
5. Sharing with service providers
Information needed for a purchase, verification or payment is shared with the relevant providers, including Legend Trading for the buying service. Hosting, security, communications and support providers may process information needed to operate those functions. An integrating application receives information needed for its agreed integration and user experience.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, a valid legal request or the need to investigate fraud, protect users or establish and defend legal rights. Providers processing information for their own services or legal obligations explain those uses in their own notices. Review the notice shown for the specific service before submitting information.
6. Public blockchain information
Wallet addresses, transaction amounts and transaction hashes can be recorded on public blockchains. Other people can view that information and may associate it with information obtained elsewhere. Sending crypto can therefore expose information beyond the website or widget.
Public blockchain records cannot generally be changed or deleted by Satogate. A request to delete an off-chain buying profile does not remove a transaction already recorded on a blockchain.
7. Cookies, storage and website usage
The website, widget and their providers may use cookies or similar technologies for session handling, security, preferences and service operation. Website usage information may also be processed to understand traffic and improve reliability. Embedded services and external sites can use technologies described in their own notices.
You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser. Blocking technologies needed for authentication, verification or payment can prevent those functions from working. Where consent is required for a particular use, the service using those technologies requests it. Browser settings do not replace the choices offered by that service.
8. Retention and international processing
Information is kept for as long as needed for the service, required records, security, dispute handling and applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, the transaction and the provider’s responsibilities. Closing a profile or requesting deletion may not remove records that must be retained by law.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the relevant processing must meet those requirements. Provider privacy notices describe their processing arrangements and any additional information available about retention or transfers.
9. Protecting your information
We use access controls and security measures appropriate to the information and service. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your email account and credentials, use trusted devices and check the site and provider you are using before submitting sensitive information.
Do not send identity documents, full payment-card details, passwords, verification codes, private keys or seed phrases in general email enquiries. Use the designated secure verification or payment process for information required to complete a purchase.
10. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to the relevant data protection authority. These rights can be limited by legal recordkeeping duties and other applicable requirements.
Contact Satogate for requests relating to the website, widget or information you have supplied to our team. Describe your request and the service involved; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity. For information held by a purchase or verification provider, use the contact route in that provider’s notice. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully carried out.
11. Age requirements and policy updates
The buying service is intended for adults aged 18 or over who meet the applicable eligibility requirements. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so the matter can be investigated.
We may update this policy as services or requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Where applicable law requires further notice or a new choice, that requirement applies. Contact our team with questions about this policy or the handling of your information.
